Angela Rene Brown, is a licensed clinical social worker working with women, children and adolescents in individual and family therapy in Yorkville, IL.

Angela has 30 year of experience and has counseled adults, children and adolescents with anxiety, depression, and with disabilities including ADHD, ASD, learning disabilities, physical impairments, emotional disorders, behavioral challenges and chronic illness.

Being raised with a sister who has multiple disabilities, Angela has always had a passion for helping children and assisting families in the challenges of raising a child with disabilities. She has raised several children including her own children, stepchildren, foster children and for many years, her grandson. Through these personal experiences, she has parented children with challenges such as ADHD, mood disorders, ODD, learning and behavioral challenges and chronic illnesses. Angela, being raised in a multi-generational, single parent household herself as well as her other life experiences, give her unique insight and ability to assist her clients in the therapeutic process.

Angela is involved with her local Christian church and over the years has enjoyed serving as a Youth Group Leader, in summer Vacation Bible School programs, on the worship team and as a greeter. Angela is an active member of the local crisis team, Kendall County SCAT (School & Community Assistance Team) and serves on Y115's CAC (Citizen's Advisory Counsel). She has served as an Advocate/GAL (Guardian Ad Litem) for a foster child for over ten years.

She integrates complementary counseling methods and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, she works with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing. Angela is committed to helping her clients achieve their goals and become empowered to become their best selves.

Education

 

Angela Rene Brown attended Jane Addams College of Social Work at UIC (University of Illinois-Chicago). She received her BSW (Bachelor of Social Work) in 1992 and after receiving Advanced Standing, she obtained her MSW (Masters of Social Work) one year later, in May 1993. She has been an LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) since June 1997 (Illinois liscence#149.007668)
